Why enter politics? To “help others”? Gah!
I wonder if they know what the term means.

Makes me want to have one or two of my own.
I’ve been looking for a dumpling recipe that hits the spot and here’s one on top of the search engines’ lists.
From a Filipino food blog, a siomai recipe.
Seems popular and delicious too, based on the comments.
I have always been close to my family but sometimes, I just wish I could banish them from the planet, hahaha!
I am of age, some of my peers have teenage children, but sometimes when my aunties call, it feels as if they’re making me do things like a child. Sigh! It doesn’t help that I have a clueless mother who just lets things pass. She even calls me at times to say this and that relative told her to tell me this and that. Bah!
Oh well, what do you do? Can I take a vacation from my family?
It's a joke heard very often especially in international circles. One goes on enumerating nationalities who speak multiple languages and then at the end: ____ speaks only one language. The right answer is American.
Perhaps true to outsiders (if they only meet stupid white trash) but in reality more than a couple hundred languages are spoken in the US.
Read Spanish en los Estados Unidos adds to immigrant heat.
Spanish is seen as a threat to American culture?
And then:
If Spanish continued to spread, he said, "bilingual candidates for president and appointed national offices could have an advantage over English-only speakers. "English speakers lacking fluency in Spanish are likely to be at a disadvantage in the competition for jobs, promotions and contracts."
He cited a 2003 survey that showed Spanish-only families in Miami averaged an annual income of $18,000, English-only $32,000, and bilingual families $50,376.
"For the first time in American history, increasing numbers of Americans will not be able to get the jobs or the pay they would otherwise get because they can speak to their countrymen only in English."
Wake up! Fluency in another language usually means better-paying jobs the world over! Hello!?!?!
And by the way, the Spanish were in North America way before there was a United States. Now, change that!
This made me chuckle – Secret Bloggers Bare All:
By day, he was a federal prosecutor in New Jersey specializing in fraud cases; by night, a young, female law-firm associate obsessed with federal judges — especially the cute ones.

US urges junk food makers to restrict ads to kids:
U.S. regulators urged food companies on Tuesday to voluntarily limit their advertising of sugary snacks, soft drinks and other junk food to kids to help combat childhood obesity.
The Federal Trade Commission and Department of Health and Human Services recommended expanding current, self-imposed guidelines on advertising to children, and said the industry should consider setting nutritional standards for foods marketed to kids.
It's about time!
If everyone cooperates, I wonder how long before we see a less corpulent US population.
Was surfing the net and was shocked by this:

For a supposedly "ultimate arbiter of high society, taste and glamour", the stylist doesn't have good taste. My goodness! It looks like a sci-fi horror movie. Is the lobster about to choke the lady as she passively waits? What are they trying to say?
